Annual report ranks Wisconsin cities on health insurance costs, inflation, and quality
Today at 10am, Citizen Action of Wisconsin released the 9th annual Wisconsin Health Insurance Cost Ranking report on a statewide media call. The report is available to the public. You can listen to the Media call
Joining the call to discuss the implications of this year’s findings was U.S. Congresswoman Gwen Moore and State Sen. Chris Larson.
In addition to providing new numbers and cost rankings for 2015, this year’s report includes data on the historic rates of health insurance inflation for each city. This year’s report also provides data on the quality of health insurance plans offered in each city and region.
The report finds a large disparities in health insurance inflation between cities and regions of Wisconsin.
Traditionally this report focuses on the large group market. This year’s also includes rankings on the individual and small group market. This data is now available because of the transparency reforms established by the Affordable Care Act. The report also includes rankings on High Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs)
