Your invited to an upcoming Forum on Wisconsin Medicaid (BadgerCare). The event is scheduled for Tues, Oct. 14 from 2:30-3:45 pm in Emory Hall 111.
The forum centers on whether the State of Wisconsin should accept federal money to expand Medicaid as provided for under the Affordable Care Act. Governor Walker has declined the federal money and has introduced his own plan for Medicaid that expands eligibility for some while eliminating it for others. In the upcoming November 4 elections, several Wisconsin counties will have an advisory referendum on the ballot asking voters whether the state should accept the federal money for Medicaid.
We have assembled a panel of experts to discuss the issue. The panelists include Dr. John McAdams from the MU Department of Political Science and Kevin Kane of Citizen Action Wisconsin. Veteran Journalist Bruce Murphy, editor of Urban Milwaukee, will moderate.
This event is free and open to the public!
