Say Yes to Federal Funds for BadgerCare. Join Our Campaign

Governor Walker is currently denying over 87,000 Wisconsinites from BadgerCare by rejecting billions of dollars in federal health care funds for the program. This decision, which can be overturned by the Legislature at any time, endangers lives and denies needed funds to Wisconsin communities.

New state data released this week reveals the the negative impact of rejecting these federal funds, $561 million in the current and the next state budget.  In addition, a report from Citizen Action of Wisconsin found that private insurance rates are needless higher than other states because of the rejection of Medicaid dollars for BadgerCare.

Numerous counties have passed referendum questions for the November election on this issue. As of August 25th, over 2.7 million Wisconsin residents will see this question on their ballots.  Right now advisory referenda are on the ballot in the following counties: Florence, La Crosse, Dane, Iron, Lincoln, Douglas, Milwaukee, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Outagamie, Chippewa, Rock, Jefferson, Portage, Wood, Oneida, St Croix, Bayfield and the City of Kenosha. We believe the people should make this decision directly.

Access to affordable health care is a necessity in modern society, and families without it do not have a fair shot at the American dream! Join the chorus of voices saying you will not support elected leaders who refuse billions in federal funds to help fill the holes in BadgerCare!

Say Yes to BadgerCare! Accept these Federal Funds.

Health care should not be reserved for those who “can afford it”.

Health Care should be available for everyone, equally.

We, as a state, cannot afford to take this on alone. Our health, and our economy, will be far better off with accepting the funds.

Many road and construction projects have been taken on that rely on future payments from the federal government, and yet they still got approved and are happening. This should be no different.

Many individuals and families in Wisconsin are struggling terribly because of the high cost of health insurance and/or deductibles, or no health insurance at all. The federal funds for BadgerCare can hopefully help them. When families can’t keep up with those high costs, they are then denied health care. Health problems then become more serious. It is shameful that our poor citizens have to be treated this way.
