Briefing on Health insurance Cost in Wisconsin

Recently, Citizen Action of WI released a report on the Roll of States in Restraining Health Insurance Costs.  I would like to invite you to an informational briefing that Citizen Action will be holding to discuss their findings and research.  They will explain their new research on variations in health insurance costs between states.  The research will show how policies like accepting federal Medicaid funds and having strong rate review policies can impact private health insurance rates, and what policies the state can implement to improve health insurance costs in the future. This is especially important as next year's health insurance rates are set to be announced in early fall.

The event will include an opportunity for Q&A on the latest research, the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid policy and other areas of health policy. The event is open to the public and will be led by Dr. Robert Kraig, executive director, and Kevin Kane, lead organizer and researcher.

Those interested can RSVP to Kelly Becker in my office Kelly.Becker@legis.wisconsin.gov or to Kevin.kane@citizenactionwi.org
