Economic Justice Issue Team

We on the Citizen Action Organizing Cooperative of Greater Milwaukee steering committee are proposing a new area that we believe we can make a big difference: making the economy fairer for all of us.

Over the last year we've worked to lift up members with big ideas to change the world the way they see fit, but we've heard from many that this issue of economic justice is sorely needed but that we needed leadership. Which is why your steering committee has opted to steer the ship toward this hugely important issue, the ability of our members and friends to all live the American Dream.

You spoke and we listened. So whether it is rooting out economic inequality in a systemic strategic way, going into the state budget fight next February with a clear plan to fund our schools/cities/parks, or more we encourage you to join us on Thursday, July 21st for an initial meeting discuss how our Co-op can best work on making a difference in issues of economic equality.

Specifically, we see opportunities to challenge the outsourcing of good jobs, predatory payday lenders and all those that would strip our money that should be circulating around the economy from our pockets. Members have already met with local mayors, allied organizations and have many big important ideas they want to share with you. Please join us for this initial meeting!
