Walker's Special Session on BadgerCare has been slow to be scheduled. We just learned that the Monday after Thanksgiving the Legislature's Joint Finance Committee will have the only public hearing on BadgerCare during the entire process. If you are upset about the proposed changes to BadgerCare listed below, then be sure to attend. Each person will have a maximum of 2 minutes each to comment!
- Walker is proposing to break his promise to 80,000 Wisconsinites under the federal poverty line he said would be covered in BadgerCare come January 1st. These individuals must now go with nothing until April (they cannot go to Healthcare.gov, subsidies are only for people above the poverty line)
- Walker still wants to kick 77,000 off of BadgerCare, now at the end of March. These individuals did not need to be kicked off
- We can still take the federal Medicaid funds to fill in the gaps in BadgerCare and cover these individuals - no delays, no cuts. Demand they end the headache and heartache, take the money!
