Congressman Pocan and State Representative Sargent Discuss Wisconsin State Budget Impact of Vote on Children’s Health Insurance (CHIP)

On Monday April 6th at 11:30 AM, join Citizen Action of Wisconsin, Congressman Mark Pocan (WI-2) and State Representative Melissa Sargent to call on Senator Baldwin and Senator Johnson to vote in favor of Children’s Health Insurance funding.

The lawmakers and advocates will document the impact on Wisconsin’s state budget if the Children’s Health Insurance Program is not funded by Congress.  

The House of Representatives voted to fully fund the Children’s Health Insurance Program  on March 26th. A U.S. Senate vote is expected the 3rd week of April. Failure to fund CHIP would have large implications for the state budget now under consideration by the Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee.
