Wisconsin health insurance is much more expensive than most other states. One major reason for this is how Wisconsin has implemented the Affordable Care Act, using every opportunity to hamstring and muck it up.
But this has been a problem for Wisconsinites. One area, known as "rate review", requires the Walker Administration's Insurance Commissioner to police insurance company rate increases to make sure they aren't excessive or unjustified. But they are not. In fact they have never found any rate increase - even those +15%-30% in one year! - excessive or unjustified.
Consumers do not deserve to be ripped off by insurance companies. And we alone cannot stand up to them, we need the direction of leaders and our collective power to guarantee affordable healthcare. That is why Citizen Action is joining State Senator Chris Larson (D-Milwaukee) and State Representative Debra Kolste (D-Janesville) as they introduce a new bill that will require Walker's Insurance Commissioner do his job and protect consumers!
Join us in the Senate Parlor as we demand scrutiny on the Walker Administration's failure to hold down skyrocketing healthcare costs!
