Stop Factory Farms, Support Family Farms!

Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations have been proven to cause adjacent wells to be unsafe, increase road damage, decrease land fertility, lower property values and increase healthcare costs. Thus, we the undersigned, feel the expansion of the Cranberry Creek CAFO is not in the best interest of Rock Creek and surrounding towns. And, we believe, there must be a 2 year moratorium placed on expansion of CAFOs in Dunn County while this matter is studied further.

Please consider the big picture. The healthcare and environmental risks this poses to our communities and future generations. America/FDA has done so much for the sake of making money and not keeping nature and our health in mind.

I sent a letter to the DNR expressing my concerns about my quality of life: my WATER, the noice, the smell, the road conditions are all at jeopardy all for the sake of a CAFO expansion to increase milk production on an already saturated market. Isn’t the DNR a department created to protect our natural resources and governed to enforce the federal laws set by the EPA? Do the right thing, dig deep into these applications, instead of taking it at face value.

    Sincerely,

    Kristine J Lien

Don’t screw up property values, drinking water, health, and tourism because of these CAFOs.

As a resident of Kewaunee County, I have experienced the environmental, social and health issues that evolve with an influx of factory farms. Lack of regulation enforcement, over permitting per available landmass, air quality deterioration, real estate devaluation and persistent lack of self-control by an industry engorged with well permits and falsified nutrient management plans have ruined my communities natural resources. The counties tourism sector has been greatly harmed by polluted rivers, streams and Lake Michigan shoreline. Adjacent industries (Agropur) have been permitted to increase chloride discharge into watersheds already on the EPA impaired list. The cycle of destruction happening in Kewaunee County is a case study for why CAFOs must be stopped in Wisconsin.
