The pressure is on for senators to pass legislation extending funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). When the Senate returns from recess on Monday, April 13, the funding, which is included in a Medicare “doc fix” bill, will face an April 15 deadline.
Tell Senator Ron Johnson to support CHIP now. You can call Sen. Ron Johnson at 202-224-5323.
The “doc fix” bill is H.R. 2, the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015, which authorized a clean funding extension for CHIP. We urge the Senate to adopt a CHIP funding bill as soon as possible. While Families USA believes that a four-year extension is preferable to two years, we also know that time is of the essence, and it is crucial that the Senate act quickly.
Let’s take action to pass this bill, which will serve as a continuing victory for children’s health.
Contact Senator Ron Johnson so that when the Senate returns to Washington, they act quickly on a clean funding extension of CHIP. You can call Sen. Ron Johnson at 202-224-5323.
