The first exploratory meeting in December saw a packed room and made it clear that we should move forward toward the founding of a "Western Wisconsin" Organizing Cooperative, a local organization owned by members with real ability to make change happen. The leaders of this drive want to invite you to the official kickoff our membership drive on Thursday, January 21st!
Our goal: A member-owned and led social justice and advocacy organization that fights on a variety of issues to make Wisconsin a better place to live and work! A Western Wisconsin Organizing Co-op would follow in the footsteps of the first Organizing Cooperative founded in Milwaukee in 2015. Learn more here:
This meeting will officially launch a 60 day countdown membership drive to sign up 200 sustaining members who believe just like you in a better world. This project will ONLY move forward if we reach our goal to make sure that members only support something that exists. There is no risk, either we create a brand new member-owned cooperative or all contributions will be canceled.
The meeting will feature Robert Kraig (Citizen Action of Wisconsin Executive Director) and Kevin Kane (Organizing Director) to answer questions and share how Citizen Action will support the drive!
