Northeast Co-op Asks Senator Feyen to Support BadgerCare Expansion

State Senator Feyen held a town hall on Monday Feb 11 in Fond du Lac County, which the Northeast organizer, Jolie Lizotte, and a couple constituents from Oshkosh attended to ask the Senator to support expanding BadgerCare in the state budget. The Senator is not staunchly opposed to the expansion so we will continue to lobby him this spring to persuade him to vote for it. We also asked him if supported overturning Citizens United (he does not) and if he supported nonpartisan redistricting (he does not).

Upcoming Event: Appleton BadgerCare Expansion Campaign Strategy Session

Tuesday February 19 7-8:30pm at the Appleton Public Library Room A

The goal for this strategy session is decide how we want to implement the Medicaid Expansion campaign in Northeast Wisconsin – what will our local tactics be and what is our anticipated timeline – as well as to answer any questions folks may have about the state budget process and why we want to win on this issue. I am looking into having a video conference option for folks who live outside of the Appleton metro area and if we are able to do that I will send a follow up email with that information.
