JOIN Citizen Action Driftless Organizing Cooperative: YOU can help progressive build our movement in rural, Southwest Wisconsin!
In just a year and a half, the Citizen Action Driftless Organizing Co-op has done so much and with your help, we can do SO MUCH MORE! As more and more Wisconsinites receive their COVID vaccines and we inch closer to some normalcy, our Movement is starting to flex our muscles in public once again!
This week our activists gathered in Spring Green, home of State Senator Howard Marklien, to demand their Senator support expanding BadgerCare to cover over 90,000 hard-working Wisconsinites who are currently without any health coverage.
Even during the COVID-19 crisis we still managed to help pass Wisconsin’s first resolution in support of Medicare for All in La Crosse County. We generated over 5,000 emails to elected leaders in Madison on issues like climate change, BadgerCare, cannabis reform, and much more! We helped pass a resolution committing La Crosse County to 100% clean, renewable energy by 2050. We collected 100s of toys to be distributed to struggling farm workers and undocumented workers so their Christmas would still be magical even during COVID. We mobilized 30 members to attend lobby visits with every Southwestern Wisconsin State Representative and State Senator. We helped organize two major protests in Viroqua supporting the BLM movement and supporting social justice. We put construction plans for two area CAFOs on hold indefinitely. We helped prevent a Republican super majority in the State Senate and we help lead Donald Trump to retirement! We helped elect La Crosse’s most progressive mayor ever and helped elect 10 of our own members to local and state offices!
We are asking you today to sponsor the work of the Citizen Action of Wisconsin Driftless Co-op. Becoming a dues-paying sponsor of our Driftless co-op means that you will be helping our efforts to build the progressive movement in rural Southwest Wisconsin. You will also be helping to flip several of Wisconsin’s most flippable seats!
Sponsors can choose to donate anywhere from $5/month to $50/month to support our efforts. Our members fight for climate justice and so much more, from our local city hall all the way to the US capitol. I ask that you join our Citizen Action Organizing co-op today and make a difference in the fight for people-powered change. Membership means having a voice in the organization leading Wisconsin to a more progressive tomorrow!

“COVID vaccine waiver” Battleground Wisconsin Podcast
We discuss the partisan vote in the Wisconsin Joint Finance Committee which removed 280 publicly popular items from their state budget, including BadgerCare Expansion. Does this end the budget fight or is it really just getting started? Our panel talks about a Federal court ruling this week invalidating the CDC’s eviction moratorium. What is this Trump-appointed judge thinking? We also dig into why the green transition will largely exclude people of color and women if it does not include fundamental structural reform or our economic system. We welcome Tobita Chow from People’s Action to discuss President Biden’s bold move to suspend the patents of Big Pharma corporations to get generic COVID vaccines to the rest of the world. Is this the end or just the beginning of the fight with Big Pharma to prioritize lives over profits during the worst global pandemic in a century?
