Citizen Action North Central Organizing Co-op Member Spotlight: Randy Radtke
Coming out of this election, we were fortunate enough that the two constitutional amendments, limiting the Governor’s power to distribute federal funds, were defeated. We believe that this is no accident. We believe that this is because of all of the great volunteers across the state that got out on doors and on the phones. This helped to educate the public about these important amendments, and to get the word out about our endorsed candidates.
In that spirit, we would like to shout out founding member of the NC Organizing Co-op, Randy Radtke (on the right in photo), for all of his help on the doors and phones, and so much more.
Randy serves on our Movement Politics Action Team, which is dedicated to organizing the community around issues that are important to our members, recruiting candidates when possible, interviewing candidates for endorsement, and getting out the vote. Randy knocked doors every Saturday that he was available in his own district, and then also phone banked into other districts in the state. He helped to train one of our newest members on the doors for their first time on GOTV weekend.
Why does this matter?
It matters because it is people like Randy, that get out and talk to folks in their community, that make things happen. In the 85th assembly district, where Randy did most of his door knocking, the 2 constitutional amendments were defeated, 56 to 44 percent. Voter turnout was higher than normal as well. This can absolutely be attributed to all of the volunteers.
And that’s why we need you! We have a really important election ahead of us. We need to all be on deck to help win this thing.
Sign up to be a volunteer on the phones and/or doors today!
We will train you first and you can help to make history. We will be calling in support of Yee Leng Xiong in AD 85 and Vinnie Miresse in AD 71 soon, and will have more opportunities for phones posted, as well as doors soon.
Democracy needs our voices!

In addition, WE Energies and other utilities plan to charge you significantly more for the energy they produce.
The PSC (Public Service Commission), We Energies, and other utilities need to hear our voices and feel our influence demanding renewable, green energy this fall when they hold public hearings around outrageous rate increases.
