Attend: Citizen Action’s Annual Meeting, Saturday, May 3rd, 10am

We want to hear your healthcare story. No story is too small!

20% of Wisconsinites use Medicaid, and far more are a degree removed from someone who is. The rest of us have dealt with bad insurance, outrageous medical bills, or corporate greed blocking our ability to get healthcare.

Share your story here!

Attend a community conversation on the Milwaukee County Climate Plan, April 16th, 6pm

Join Citizen Action of Wisconsin, Walnut Way Conservation Corp, Our Future Milwaukee, and the League of Women Voters of Milwaukee County for a community conversation on the proposed Milwaukee County Climate Action 2050 Plan, next Wednesday, April 16th, 6:00pm – 7:30pm. Walnut Way Conservation Corp, 1617 W. North Ave, Milwaukee.

Hear from Milwaukee County Office of Sustainability on the plan and share your priorities for helping build a greener, healthier, and equitable Milwaukee County. Read more about the Milwaukee County Climate Plan.

Milwaukee County is getting ready to take a big step forward on climate—and your voice can help make it happen. The County’s Climate Action 2050 Plan (CA50) lays out a bold path to cut carbon pollution, save public dollars, and invest in healthier, more sustainable communities. The plan includes key actions like switching County buildings to clean energy, upgrading energy efficiency, moving toward electric buses, and expanding public transit options. It also puts equity front and center—making sure the benefits reach communities that have been hit hardest by pollution and disinvestment.

Can’t make it in person? You can still make a big impact—email your County Supervisor before the April 24 vote and urge them to vote yes on the Climate Action Plan. Tell them why clean energy, better transit, and environmental justice are important to you. With your help, we can push this plan over the finish line and make sure Milwaukee County leads the way on climate.

We welcome back to the show Tobita Chow to discuss how Trump’s 125%+ tariff on China fits into the escalating spiral of dangerous conflict between the United States and China. We review the main currents of thought within the current administration and potential outcomes. Is Trump setting up an inevitable military conflict with China?

We close with Marquette University Theology professor, Chris Gooding, who is a member of the academic staff’s union organizing committee. Marquette continues to refuse to recognize the faculty union. The members are planning a protest of their new anti-union president on Monday, April 28th, 10 am in front of the Al Center on the university’s campus.
