Attend Climate and Utility Justice Lobby Day, Tuesday, November 11th.
Join Citizen Action of Wisconsin and partners from across the state for Climate and Utility Justice Lobby Day on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison.
This is a powerful day of collective action where residents, advocates, and local leaders will meet directly with legislators to demand bold action for affordable energy, clean air and water, and a climate-safe future for all. Citizen Action members will advocate for the Climate Accountability Act, and 2% of Income Utility Rate Cap, while also uplifting additional priorities from our partners working for justice and sustainability.
Participants will receive training and materials before heading into meetings in small teams to share stories, push for a statewide climate plan, a constitutional right to clean air and water, and a utility rate cap to keep energy affordable.
Free transportation is available, including a bus from Milwaukee and carpools from across Wisconsin, with lunch provided. This is your chance to be part of a movement that is holding utilities and state agencies accountable while fighting for equity and environmental justice.
Come be part of a growing movement for clean energy, equity, and democracy in action. To learn more or get involved, contact kat.klawes@citizenactionwi.org.
Milwaukee County Community Conversation on Budget, Climate, Transportation, and Equity, October 30th, 6pm.
Milwaukee County is facing tough budget decisions this year, including proposed service reductions to the Milwaukee County Transit System. The proposal would eliminate six bus routes and cut frequency on others, limiting access to jobs, schools, health care, and childcare. The routes slated for elimination are Route 20 (S. 20th), Route 28 (108th), Route 33 (Vliet), Route 34 (Hopkins), Route 55 (Layton), and Route 58 (Villard). These cuts would fall hardest on Black and working-class neighborhoods that rely on transit every day and would set back equity and climate goals.
Citizen Action of Wisconsin and partners are hosting a community conversation so residents can learn about the county budget, ask questions, and speak directly with County Supervisors and departments. Attendees will hear a short overview of the budget and process, join small group discussions on transportation, climate resilience, public health, and parks, and help shape next steps. All input will be compiled and shared with the full Board.
Thursday, October 30th, 6:00pm to 8:00pm; Washington Park Urban Ecology Center, 1859 N 40th St, Milwaukee.

Listen to “AI & Data Center Bubble” Battleground Wisconsin Podcast.
As Trump takes a bulldozer to the White House and liberal democracy, we take a deep dive into the devastating potential impact of the tech oligarchs here in Wisconsin. Foxconn 2.0: the Data Center Invasion, shows that as in the movies the sequel is even worse than the original. Robert tells us about economist Jerrod Bernstein’s forecast that there is an AI bubble that will pop the stock market and leave Wisconsinites holding the bag on huge new fossil fuel plants and infrastructure when AI goes bust.
We review how state and local officials continue to ignore growing public opposition and lavish the tech giants with generous state and local tax subsidies. In addition, opposition to the transmission lines for massive data centers is growing and producing unique new political alignments.
Also on this week’s show: Congressman Brian Stiel’s bill that would cut funding to Milwaukee, other major transit systems; Flu vaccination rates plummet in Wisconsin in the wake of anti-vax disinformation from the top of government; and Wisconsin federal food assistance runs out in 8 days, leaving over 700,000 Wisconsinites in peril.
Listen to the show.
