Citizen Action Western Wisconsin Co-op Celebrates Juneteenth in Eau Claire

Thanks to the hard work of partner organizations, including our own co-op member Dr. Selika Ducksworth-Lawton, Eau Claire hosted its 19th annual Juneteenth Celebration. Co-op member and State Representative Jodi Emerson spoke on the necessity of confronting systemic racism within our own institutions and in our own communities.

We know that we have a long way to go, but we are proud of the work in which our members are engaged.

The Future of Healthcare Town Hall

Our Executive Director, Dr. Robert Kraig, will be speaking at Brown Deer United Methodist Church this coming Sunday, June 23rd. This will be an in-depth overview of healthcare reform, from fixing the ACA to Medicare for All and everything in between.

The very next day, he will be back at noon with members of the medical and faith community for a press conference and rally/tailgate action around the BadgerCare Expansion issue.  This is a don’t miss talk.

Sunday, June 23rd, 3PM
United Methodist Church

Thanks to Grassroots North Shore for sponsoring the event.

“Trumped up 2020 election” Battleground Wisconsin Podcast

We discuss Trump’s made for Fox TV campaign kick-off event in the wake of his trumped up fight with Iran. Will Trump decide that releasing the dogs of war is to his political advantage? Next, we dig into the critical state budget votes scheduled for next week, the growing right wing opposition to the GOP budget, and the options available to Governor Evers should a terrible budget reach his desk. We preview next Monday’s BadgerCare Expansion statewide Day of Action. Finally, the panel dives into the Elizabeth Warren/Bernie Sanders dynamic in the Democratic primary election, looks ahead to the first Democratic  presidential “debate,” and discusses Beto O’Rourke’s LBJ like ascent from political unknown to presidential contender.
