Citizen Action members join Mandela Barnes and former HHS director Kathleen Sebelius at media conference

Highlight importance of the ACA’s ban on discrimination against people with pre-existing conditions.

Denise Patton, a Citizen Action co-op member and small business owner, flanked by fellow co-op members, Mandela Barnes & former US HHS director Kathleen Sebelius, sharing how we need to protect people like her with preexisting conditions (both allergies & heart condition), and how reform allowed her to have more time with her late brother than if he couldn’t get coverage. “I’d be remiss if I didn’t first thank God”, said Denise Patton. “But second I thank the Affordable Care Act”

North Central Organizing Co-op Members Continue to Canvass and Phone Bank in Down-Ticket races; Tammy Baldwin Visits Region

This past Saturday, North Central Organizing Co-op members continued to get out the vote in Assembly Districts 70, 72, 85, 86, 87, 35, and 34. In between Junction City and Wisconsin Rapids, Co-op members, and members of the Portage County Democratic Party knocked over 400 doors in 2 Assembly Districts! Pictured are Co-op members Mark Holbrook, Don Dunphy and Jan Way before knocking for Cari Fay in the 70th Assembly District. After that, Co-op members traveled to Wisconsin Rapids to knock for David Gorski.

US Senator Tammy Baldwin has been campaigning across WI, and made stops in Wisconsin Rapids and Wausau this week. Here she is standing with 86th Assembly candidate, and Co-op member Nancy Stencil during her stop at The Mint Cafe in historic Downtown Wausau. She was greeted with a packed house! The best part was when she walked through the door and greeted the first table, and the two young ladies were not expecting it! They were very excited to meet Tammy and committed to vote for her on the spot!

Volunteer opportunities to help elect Citizen Action members and endorsed candidates to the State Legislature

We are nearing the final stretch of the 2018 election season and Citizen Action members have been volunteering across the state to help members and other endorsed candidates for State Legislature and other offices. Last weekend nearly a dozen Milwaukee area members knocked doors for Julie Henszey and Chris Rahlf.

This weekend our members need your help. Four of our members running for State Assembly (Emily Seigrist, Liz Sumner, Tom Seiber and Mark Martello) found out this week that the Koch Brothers and Americans For Prosperity are dumping tens of thousands in support of their opponents. We need people power to fight back and win these close elections! Volunteer this weekend!
