Citizen Action Weekend 2025, Friday, September 19th

Friday, September 19th
Join Citizen Action Today!

RSVP for the Climate March at the State Capitol with Citizen Action Sunday, September 28th, Noon.

Citizen Action of Wisconsin members are uniting with partners across the state to demand bold action on climate change and a just transition to a clean energy future.

Together, we are fighting for the Climate Accountability Act, a comprehensive plan that holds polluters accountable, invests in renewable energy, creates good-paying green jobs, and protects our communities.

By marching together, we send a clear message: Wisconsin needs a real climate plan, and we need it now.

This march is part of a national movement demanding that our leaders take immediate, bold action to address the climate crisis. Across the country, communities are rising up to fight for clean energy, environmental justice, and policies that put people before polluters. By joining the Wisconsin Climate March, you’re helping build statewide and nationwide momentum for transformative change.

  • When & Where: Sunday, September 28, 12–2 PM at the Wisconsin State Capitol

WE’RE DOING IT AGAIN: North Side Rising is headed to the Capitol!

North Side Rising invites you to join us in Madison September 28th to push for a Climate Accountability Act.

Our state needs infrastructure solutions to offset flooding, power outages due to wind, snow and rain.  And anything else mother nature has in store.  And we need more investment in a workforce to do the work.

When NSR met Rep. Moore-Omokunde he told us “Don’t underestimate your power here.  I have colleagues that are receiving no visitors today.  But all want to know what you are here to say”.

Join us and add to the voice of power.  Sign up here to RSVP!

Updates from Citizen Action North Central Organizing Co-op

When the Organizing Co-ops were first created, each region had a member driven steering committee that helped to direct the work of the organizers, the organization, and were often the face(s) of the work. Over time, we realized that because we have 3 major issue areas that we work on, it could be more effective to split into issue action teams. In north central, the climate action team is developed and well established. They’re biggest victory was getting the Wausau City Council to vote unanimously in support of creating a climate action plan, to get to 100% renewable energy by 2050 or sooner.

We are now forming a health care action team. They will be meeting for the first time, on Thursday, September 25th at 6 pm via Zoom. That team is still being built, so if healthcare is a top issue for you, there could be room for you on this team!

Our third issue team, the Movement Politics team, focuses on candidate recruitment, supporting candidates, and issue based organizing on the doors and the phones. This one is also just forming, so if this interests you, we could have a spot for you on this core team.
