    Hey RadioActive,

Please enjoy this special episode of BustED Pencils with Alfie Kohn.

We talk about the “schools our children deserve” and follow up with a who’s who of education activists answering the question: What Are the Schools Our Children Deserve? Don’t forget Trending News, What Would Matt Damon’s Mom Say? and our Moment of Zinn.

We are at a critical point and need to demonstrate a vibrant listening audience. BustED Pencils as a weekly show heard across the country is within our grasp.

Enjoy the show on our webpage or sign up for automatic downloads at iTunes.

All we need is a “little help from our friends.”

    Keep Busting Pencils,

    Tim and Randy

You continue to endorse UNQUALIFIED CANDIDATES. One of them is Clinton Anderson. His interests are all self serving and not for the greater good of the people.

Has there been any thought of profiling candidates at the state level for the November elections?

Saw your ad in the recent Council 10-Retired message of 3/24/2016- Very Interesting.

For some silly reason, everyone seems to expect all teachers to be Liberals. I have been out of the profession for decades, and the more I have lived in the REAL WORLD, the more realistic I get, That is, Conservative.

    Three points:

    1. Conservative talk radio is necessary because television and much of the Print media is dominated by Liberals.

    2. I do not know if this applies, but I hope you folks are not trying to pass yourselves off as apolitical in order to avoid taxation.

    3. Why do some of you treat Conservatives as though we need an Intervention?

Thanks for the chance to opine. Please urge your membership to be civil in response.

I tried to post this in the Milwaukee Sentinel comments and the system would not let me. You can get it out:

“Walker and other Republicans say they oppose raising the minimum wage because many workers receiving it are teenagers and because increasing it would cause employers to eliminate jobs.”

I am so sick of this lie I could throw up. There is NO PROOF EVER that raising the minimum wage costs jobs. In fact every time the minimum wage was raised the GDP increased and the unemployment rate dropped. Look it up, the studies are all over the internet. Cities that have a higher minimum wage have a lower unemployment rate. Check Seattle. Read anything by Nick Hanauer, a millionaire entrepreneur. Read the Read

More important this stance is illogical. The minimum wage goes up. I have ten employees. They can now buy more goods and services. The people they buy from eventually buy from me. My business has now increased. And I am going to lay off employees? Does that even make sense?

I never disliked Republicans until the last ten years as I watched the middle class sink and executives buy 24,000 square foot homes. As I read how food stamps and other safety nets were cut, education and research was cut, and corporations now receive more in tax breaks then we spend on welfare programs combined. As I read their “jobs” bills designed to strip all agencies that protect our air, water and parks of money and keep people from earning a living wage. This mentality is ruining America and it is time to wake up.

What a concept… dig large holes along the major highways…some with ladders with a sign saying “Keep digging, Scott”, others without ladder with a sign saying" Walker’s digging so deep, that no ladder is long enough to get us out"

I lead a state non-profit organization focused on bringing the family voice to addiction and recovery. We provide support, education, and advocacy to families who have a loved one with an addiction.

WI United We C.A.N. currently has over 370 members in the state and we are growing every day. Many are parents who want to make a difference in the way their children develop an addiction and find treatment. I would be interested in seeing how we might be able to work with your coalition.

I am also a member of two local task forces that are working on a four pillar approach to addressing issues. Again, I see a tie into what you are looking to do.

Please let me know how we might work together.

    Thank you.

    Lori Cross Schotten

    CEO and President

Please remove me from your email list. And please locate an unsubscribe button on your website; it’s rude not to give people power to choose, especially on a site that claims to empower people. Think about that one…have a good day JW

Will the Wisconsin Supreme Court’s shameful rulings regarding voter ID and Act 10 be appealed?

Your bit about the Badger Care referendum makes it sound binding when it’s not, but it is a great way to garner necessary publicity and raise the public consciousness. could you send model resolution language to my e-mail address?

I’m going to be on the ballot for the 7th Congressional District and have been endorsed by the largest civic organization in the District.. More information about the economic consequences faced by health care providers and the drag this has on our local or State economy(s) due to withholding these federal funds from Medicaid would be helpful.

Similarly, any info as to economic impact on the state’s withholding of federal funds to restore Food Stamp cuts would be very much appreciated as well.

    My campaign website is:

Thank you and keep up the good work.

I believe Bonnie Strauss from our group, Kettle Moraine Voices for Justice, contacted someone and asked that I be called. I got a telephone message from John Morgan, but have been unable to call him to leave a message, since his voice mail is not set up! We want some information about healthcare access in our county (Washington) to be able to present at a public educational meeting in October.

I’m in the photo somewhere on this page. We now need to mobilize against the tar sands threat to Wisconsin!
  • commented 2014-06-26 21:17:51 -0500
Help us! The Keystone XL pipeline was a threat to other states, but the new Enbridge tar sands pipeline being planned for Wisconsin is much more dangerous. Where is the press? We are the target and Gov. Walker is only out of state. A hearing at Jefferson, WI on June 24 sponsored by Enbridge was not attended by DNR or DOT. Only Sierra Club seems to know about this…

    Dear Sir or Madam:

I just received a VERY disturbing e-mail notice form the City of Milwaukee’s Common Council concerning “new” legislation that was enacted. Here was the absolutely unbelievable and incredible message I received:

"File 131659 permits a Class “B” or Class “A” alcohol beverage establishment within 300 feet of a church, school, day care center or hospital by a vote of a majority of the Council."

I am apalled by this message. I never received ANY notice that such a matter or “legislation” was being considered and feel that it was pushed through without proper prior notice to citizens that would have objected. I was wondering if anyone in your organization or board of directors has an opinion on this matter? Please let me know. Thank you. Val

I volunteer some of my time to help nonprofits with their websites. I worked in IT for 23 years and was a professional webmaster too. I’ve helped eight organizations so far. Do you have any interest in getting a new website for free? I just helped an animal shelter and their site is really nice now. I helped a women’s center before that.

I promised Val that I would make a contribution and would like to follow through identifying her for motivating me. There doesn’t seem to be a way to do that on your donation page but I’ll go ahead anyway. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
