After years of damaging attacks on our state, over 200 progressives in the greater Milwaukee area joined together in the summer of 2015 to form a partnership with Citizen Action of Wisconsin to create an innovative, bold new way to organize progressives in Wisconsin called the Citizen Action Organizing Cooperative. Our members pay small monthly dues in order to work with their own professional organizer on the issues they care about, and have access to the organizing, political and issue expertise of Citizen Action of Wisconsin staff.

Today, we have over one thousand members statewide and have launched Organizing Cooperatives based in the Eau Claire, Wausau and Green Bay/Fox Valley areas, as well as issue and community-based Cooperatives working to address extreme right-wing radio in Wisconsin (Radio-Active), fighting for quality healthcare for all, and Acción Ciudadana working in the Latinx community in greater Milwaukee. In just over two years, members throughout the state have taken on payday lenders, right-wing radio hosts, low-wage employers, legislators who've rigged our election maps and made it harder to vote, insurance companies, factory mega-farms and more.
