Local Action. Real Power! Fight for Climate Justice in your Community.

Join Citizen Action of Wisconsin, ESTHER- Fox Valley, and Wisconsin Conservation Voters next Wednesday, December 15th, at 6:00 PM for a webinar to learn what actions you can take in your community to fight for climate justice and make real change. Hear from local leaders in the fight for Climate Justice and learn the impact you can have as we work together to ensure that our fight for climate justice brings us all together.

No matter the color of our skin or the amount of money we make, we all deserve a country that’s cleaner and fairer. We want a future where our communities are thriving, where our families are whole and earn a good living, and where the land, air, and water we depend on are healthy and beautiful. Rather than wait for national officials to act, we can lead the fight against climate change right in our own communities! This vision of tackling climate change from the ground up means making an otherwise abstract and overwhelming challenge, more tangible and manageable.

Local Governments hold real power to create communities where every single person can thrive with no exceptions. We know now is our time to act and let our elected officials know that now is the time to act and do their part to combat climate change!

Have Coffee with an Organizer!

Let’s chat and change the world. Ok, maybe that’s a bit ambitious but let’s meet so we can get to know you more.  What shapes your worldview? Did you grow up in a union home? Were you hurt by bad policy?  Did your profession show you a system that is inadequate?

Did you suffer a personal loss that woke you up?  We want to know more about you and we are really good listeners. Connect with us at [email protected].

The Healthcare for All Co-op is Looking for Prescription Drug stories.

Do you take insulin or even an expensive asthma inhaler every month? Then we need to speak to you.

Help us fight big Pharma and their plan to dig further into our pockets. Undoubtedly, their greed has killed people as these medications become more and more unaffordable for many.

They are the top lobbying sector in Washington D.C. and the only way to fight for what is right, is to speak up. Talk to us.

Attend Standing up for Change, a Rally for Climate Justice at UWL

Join Citizen Action Driftless Co-op for a rally and press event to demand that UWL becomes a leader in the fight against climate change on Monday, December 11th at 11:00 AM in front of the clock tower.

We are calling on UWL:

  • To hire a sustainability coordinator
  • Create a Climate Action Plan
  • Invest in solar and divest from fossil fuels

Speakers from UWL and the community will be on hand to speak at our press event. Signs will be available. Students are also encouraged to make homemade signs in support of climate justice. After the press conference we will be marching as a group to drop petition signatures off with UWL administration. You can get involved by attending the rally, telling your story at the event, marching, or by making signs.

We will be meeting at the clock tower starting at 10:30. This will be an outdoor, COVID safe, event.  Masks are highly encouraged.

This is NOT that podcast: When housing and control over your body aren’t human rights

As winter sets into Wisconsin, the issues of housing and the specter of rising rates of evictions weighs heavy on the public’s minds. In Milwaukee, however, the numbers of people actually suffering unjust eviction and homelessness can be hard to get an official tally on. We have special guest Robert Penner of the Milwaukee Autonomous Tenants Union to guide us through the eviction landscape. We also discuss the ongoing battles in the Supreme Court on reproductive rights.

“Partisan Pandemic” Battleground Wisconsin Podcast

This week the panel digs into the unprecedented partisanship of the COVID pandemic, which is driving another major surge and threatens (AGAIN) to overwhelm Wisconsin hospitals. We also discuss the shocking new numbers that living in a red county dramatically increases your chances of death. Next we delve into the growing GOP conspiracy to undermine the basic mechanisms of democracy, and guarantee domination of Congress, the Legislature, and a Trump victory in 2024. Next we discuss another threat from the right wing takeover, the likely end of Roe vs. Wade. Finally we recognize the eventful career of State Senator Jon Erpenbach, who announced his retirement earlier this week.
