Last MU Law Poll says WI Senate Race Too Close to Call.
The election is all about turnout!

The final Marquette University Law Poll released today shows Mandela Barnes trailing Ron Johnson by only 2% in the critical Wisconsin U.S. Senate race, closing a 6% gap only a few weeks ago. This race is basically tied!

Now more than ever, we need your immediate support to finance our statewide GOTV field canvass that is talking directly to progressive voters who MAY or MAY NOT vote.

Our field team has been having deep canvass conversations with undecided and independent voters throughout Wisconsin since the primary ended. We have been combating the dark money lies and misinformation one voter at a time and it’s working! Now it is time to get out all our voters!

Donate now to support our critical campaign to get out progressive voters and win this historic election!

Citizen Action releases new #SENATORFORSALE video.

WATCH & SHARE Citizen Action’s NEW video which uses Ron Johnson’s own words to reveal who he really works for in the U.S. Senate. Ron Johnson does not represent us. #SenatorForSale

We need your help to spread it to as many voters as possible in this critical closing week!

If hundreds of Citizen Action members and supporters like you share this video to their email lists, and share the links on Facebook, Twitter, and Instragam, the video will reach tens of thousands of voters.

An Organizing Revival – Citizen Action of Wisconsin Annual Meeting, Saturday, December 10th 10:00 AM, VIRTUAL

It’s almost 2023! As we define our new normal after the pandemic, we are launching an Organizing Revival to build a progressive base of leaders across the state to garner the power we need to transform our healthcare system, to fight climate change and create a green economy, and to defend our democracy by electing progressives from our town halls to the halls of Congress.

Join us for our 2023 Annual Meeting for a review of our collective accomplishments in 2022, a preview of the 2023 Organizing Revival, and to get engaged to lead the way on the change we need.

Members and supporters from around the state are invited to join us for this virutal meeting via Zoom.

Register here to recieve the Zoom link to join.

Care Over Cost outreach in Eau Claire

Ryan Greenwood (left), leads the People’s Action “Care Over Cost” campaign, which works to help people tell their stories when their insurance company refuses to pay for the health care that they need. He visited Eau Claire last week with members of the Northwestern Organizing Co-op, and with Northwestern organizer Jeremy Gragert (right), they collected stories from community members in downtown Eau Claire. Learn more about Care Over Cost, and please share if you have a story to tell: https://careovercost.org/

Sign our petition against We Energies outrageous 13% rate hike

Citizen Action of Wisconsin’s North Side Rising Organizing Co-op was part of a coalition against We Energies proposed rate hike, now 13%+ for residential customers. The new coalition, Affordable Energy Now, is demanding that the biggest utility in Wisconsin stop charging unaffordable rates to low income People of Color who live in older energy inefficient housing. African Americans in Milwaukee are often forced to pay 6-20% of their incomes to keep the lights on.

More on Citizen Action’s campaign to hold We Energies accountable in our new Citizen Action Explainer.

Citizen Action in the news

The GOP has turned crime into the racial dog whistle of 2022.  In the editorial in the front of this month’s In These Times magazine, Citizen Action’s Robert Kraig evaluates what happened to dash the hopes for reform, and what social justice organizers can do to turn things around. Read the article here.

The Milwaukee Task Force on Climate and Economic Equity held a town hall meeting to release its preliminary report to city and county government for public comment. WUWM Radio’s story quotes Citizen Action Climate & Equity Director Rafael Smith, and Citizen Southeast Wisconsin Organizing Co-op Member Ted Kraig, both members of the task force. Citizen Action played a leading role in the creation of the task force three years ago. Listen here.

Citizen Action’s Robert Kraig was on the Earl Ingram Show for the full hour to preview GOTV weekend and the prospects for victory in Wisconsin.  They were joined by former Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez, and Robert was able to ask him questions about what he is learning in other key battleground states. Listen Here.

Robert Kraig was on the Jeff Santos Show to discuss the election’s, and Biden’s speech on the threat to democracy. (at 2 hour 33 minute mark in video). Listen here.

Listen to “Case Closed: 2022 Election GOTV” Battleground Wisconsin Podcast

We discuss the new MU Poll which shows the election is tied and all about turnout! Poll demonstrates that GOTV field programs will decide the election and you need to volunteer! If you can’t volunteer, please DONATE to support our GOTV door and phone canvass. President Biden makes impassioned comments Wednesday about the threat to democracy. Why is the Wisconsin mainstream media ignoring Tim Michels’ Trumpian comments that if he is elected governor, no Republican will lose in Wisconsin? How does it relate to his position on decertifying the 2020 election, or abolishing the WEC? Also Michael’s construction company has no Black people in management, super majority white and male. Citizen Action releases a hard hitting Ron Johnson video that uses his own words to reveal who he supports. We encourage you to watch & share video. Robert educates us on the Affordable Care Act open enrollment period beginning this week and what changes open up health care coverage to more people. We update the effort to stop We Energies outrageous 13%+ rate hike and their inadequate effort to transition to renewable energy.

Listen to the show!
