Happy Veterans Day on Friday, November 11th

Thank You to all our 2022 Election Volunteers!

Congratulations to Kristin Deprey, a member of the Citizen Action Northwest Organizing Cooperative, for winning Milwaukee Bucks tickets for knocking more doors than any other volunteer this fall! It will be Kristin’s first Bucks game. Kristin went out on 6 separate occasions, including GOTV, and knocked 171 doors! Thanks to Citizen Action of Wisconsin president Mark Thomsen for donating the tickets.

Welcome our New Healthcare Co-op Organizer Brandon Williford!

We welcome Brandon Williford, our new Healthcare Co-op organizer. He will be starting to reach out soon to get to know members so keep an eye out for an email from him soon.

Brandon received his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and political science from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in May of 2021. His time on campus inspired him to found Students of Color in Academic Life (SOCIAL), a student organization with the mission to improve the social and academic lives of minority students. He has been organizing in Milwaukee since 2017 and is dedicated to promoting change within the community. His passion for organizing has led him to Citizen Action of Wisconsin where he will be focused on helping those who want to make a change to our healthcare system and policies and ultimately, advocate for the worldview that healthcare is a human right.

Brandon loves to read and write within his spare time and is a self-proclaimed “philosophy nerd”. In addition, he has a passion for football, chess, and playing video games. He is excited to be one of the newest faces at Citizen Action of Wisconsin and cannot wait to see what the future holds.

We MUST fix our rigged tax system & tax the ultra-rich!

Mandela Barnes lost by approximately 27,000 votes and was outspent by outside groups to a tune

27 million dollars. The majority of that money came from three Wisconsin connected billionaires.

Billionaires Diane Hendricks and Liz and Richard Uihlein are not only using their excessive wealth to buy their own personal U.S. Senator, they are using it to defund public schools, ban abortion, bust unions, roll back environmental regulations and climate change measures, cut taxes for corporations and the ultra-rich, dismantle public assistance programs, and much more.

Sign our petition to tax the ultra-rich now!

Taxing the ultra-rich will help level the playing field and provide funding to invest in our families, our communities, and our future.

“Purple Wave” Battleground Wisconsin Podcast

We unflinchingly evaluate the 2022 election in Wisconsin, both the good and the bad. We celebrate the high turnout and overall surprisingly strong performance of Democrats in Wisconsin and nationally, from the Governor Tony Evers victory to a possible Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate. We also don’t hide our deep disappointment in the close loss of Mandela Barnes and the despair of the gerrymandered state legislature. We close by looking forward to the Spring 2023 Supreme Court election where reversing the historically undemocratic Legislative gerrymander and removing voter suppression rules will be on the ballot.
