Wisconsin Climate & Jobs Package media event in Milwaukee

Wisconsin’s Climate & Jobs Package media tour continued this Thursday in Milwaukee. Citizen Action North Side Rising members joined with sponsors Senator Chris Larson and State Representative Supreme Moore Omokunde at Century City.

The Climate & Jobs Package is the first comprehensive legislation ever introduced in Wisconsin or in the Upper Midwest to actually meet the international climate targets needed to avert catastrophic climate change. The plan also leans into the opportunity to use a greenhouse gas transition to create a fair economy that offers real economic opportunity to every Wisconsinite in every region of our state. The legislation is a good way to meet Governor Evers’ bold Clean Energy Plan, which provides a framework for planning a meaningful climate response.

New MU Poll finds the Senate race a dead heat!

The new MU Law Poll finds Independent voters are moving towards Ron Johnson.  The truth is nasty attack ads work, unless they are confronted.

We have the solution!

Our professional “Deep Canvass” phone team has been calling these voters since the primary ended to combat the negative messages and unpack the racist appeals with these voters in longer conversations. It’s working! We are moving independent voters to Mandela. But, we need to expand our program fast if we are going to reach all these important voters. Every dollar goes directly to the program.

DONATE now!

RSVP for volunteer phone calls for Mandela Barnes, Wednesday, September 21st, 5pm – 8pm

Join callers from all over the country! We are averaging 25 callers a week! We need your help talking to thousands of important undecided voters who need persuasion and progressive voters who need motivation. These voters will decide this November’s election, not our facebook, Instagram friends.

Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, recently signed by President Biden, Medicare is finally able to negotiate drug prices thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act. This is a historic win. Power was shifted from Big Pharma back to the people.

The Biden Administration and the Health and Human Services Secretary Becerra can help make even more medications more affordable NOW, without waiting on Congress?

Join us virtually on September 22nd at 6PM. We will learn from medical professionals and community leaders how we can move policy to make medications more affordable for all. We will hear from real Wisconsinites who are struggling to afford their medications. And we will share how you can take action now.

Citizen Action in the News

Citizen Action’s Executive Director Robert Kraig was on the Earl Ingram Radio Show for the full hour to break down right-wing attacks on Mandela, racial dog whistles, the roots of wealth inequality, and more. Listen here.

The Earl Ingram Show broadcasts Monday-Friday from 8 AM to 11 AM on WAUK Radio 540 AM/The Sha 101FM Waukesha/Milwaukee. Robert appears regularly at 10 AM on Wednesdays.

Listen to “UW Nurses flex union power” Battleground Wisconsin Podcast

We shed light on the misleading media coverage of the latest MU Law Poll, which finds both the Governors and U.S. Senate races are a dead heat. Did the TV saturation of racialized attacks on Mandela Barnes influence any specific subset of voters? We applaud Sarah Godlewski’s new PAC to expose Sen. Johnson on abortion and support 6 women candidates running for important state legislative seat. Robert reviews new campaign contribution data that reveals Corporate America as the real power behind MAGA and the assault on democracy. We welcome UW Health nurse Shari Signer to discuss this week’s narrowly avoided strike, next steps for the nurses, and their role in helping inspire a rebirth of labor organizing. New data reveals the lowest child poverty rate in America ever measured thanks to President Biden’s policies, especially the Child Tax Credit. Will Democrats in the Senate make it permanent? We close with Matt ranting again against the un-elected Federal Reserve Bank.

Listen to show!
